Introducing AluComp extruded aluminium enclosures

Switches, sensors and enclosures specialist, Bernstein Ltd, has added a brand new line of box section extruded aluminium enclosures to its extensive product range.

'AluComp' enclosures are specifically designed to house electronic components (Circuit boards, RF Amplifiers etc) offering a number of benefits, not least when it comes to mounting. The enclosures can be mounted using clip on brackets and accessories – reducing the need for multiple types of boxes for different mounting options.

Bernstein Ltd's Managing Director Rob Emms, says, "The new range is extremely robust and rugged, making it ideal for a wide range of installations. We work with a number of customers in sectors such as telecommunications for the defence industry – applications of this nature require high-quality products that can withstand demanding conditions. We're confident that the AluComp range will benefit a significant number of our customers."

AluComp is available in two main colours (silver or black anodized) and a range of standard sizes to accommodate different types of circuit boards, including 55mm, 100mm and 160mm width boards. The enclosures also feature a shallow recess between the decorative grooves – providing space for a label if required, whilst the dovetails down the sides will take an optional wall mounting bracket. Other optional accessories include standard and non-standard end plates, a gasket to aid waterproofing, bezel, self-tapping or thread-forming screws, rubber feet and clip-on brackets.

A flat-packed version, specifically designed for mounting hard drives, is also available which comes in various widths and lengths, and is 44mm high.

AluComp enclosures can be supplied as standard products, or bespoke versions to meet customers' specific requirements as part of the 'Bernstein Custom' service. Bespoking options include a wide range of colours that enable products to match the customer's corporate identity and a custom assembly service that includes in-house machining and pre-wiring if required.

Rob continues, "We recently showcased AluComp, alongside a number of our other industrial enclosures, at the Southern Manufacturing show in Farnborough where it was extremely well received. Bernstein prides itself on listening to customers; we continuously evaluate our products to ensure we are able to provide what our customers need in one place – removing the need to involve third parties for some services." The new range brings an added dimension to Bernstein's current product offering which already includes aluminium, polycarbonate, stainless steel, polyester and ATEX approved enclosures, as well as Control Enclosures including the brand new modular system CC-5000 neXt – one of Bernstein's slimmest aluminium control enclosures.

CC-5000 neXt has been specifically developed to meet an increasing demand for control enclosures that offer great design, as well as high performance. CC-5000 neXt enclosures benefit from a streamlined design which can be configured in a number of different ways and customised to match the customer's corporate identity.

The enclosures can be supplied in nine installation depths ranging from 75mm to 370mm and are available in height and width dimensions up to 1000mm.

Rob says, "Bernstein specialises in offering bespoke products and services to provide our customers with the best possible solution for their specific requirements. Bernstein Custom is a one stop solution for contract manufacturing and assembly, designed to save customers both time and money. As well as customised and bespoke enclosures, Bernstein can also supply pre-wired products and ready to install assemblies – all designed for purpose.
