Railtex is ideal platform to showcase Trackside Enclosures from Bernstein

Trackside Enclosures

Bernstein Ltd will be showcasing a range of its customisable enclosures which are ideal for a wide variety of trackside applications on Stand R11 at Railtex 2015 next month.

Cost effective alternatives to Stainless Steel including GRP, Polycarbonate and Aluminium enclosures are particularly popular in the Rail industry thanks to the high levels of impact resistance and ingress protection offered.

Business Development Manager, Paul Sharp, says, “Bernstein’s enclosures are used in a range of trackside applications where sensitive equipment needs to be securely housed and protected from the elements and vandalism. Popular uses include housing sensors used to monitor Vibration, Joint and Track Temperatures.”

Enclosures in a range of materials can be used for these applications, but each brings specific benefits to users. For example, Polycarbonate is lightweight and offers UV stability, whilst both GRP and Aluminium provide high impact resistance. Aluminium products can also be supplied in a wide range of colours.

IP66, IP67 and IP68 ratings guarantee the level of protection needed for external applications and are vital in the Rail industry where any equipment failure can have potentially fatal consequences.

Bernstein offers an in-house ‘Custom’ service that enables customers to order bespoke enclosures designed to meet specific requirements.

Paul continues, “We have extensive experience of working with some of the UK’s leading Rail companies and our Custom service is highly valued as we are able to adapt standard enclosures to suit specific requirements.”
